Featured San Luis Obispo County Neighborhoods Each month I feature different neighborhoods in our county that I believe are worthy of spotlighting as a great place to live and offer an above average real estate investment. This month I am spotlighting two outstanding areas for family living, one for clients in San Luis Obispo and one in our beach cities. Edna Islay
Planned Communities, San Luis Obispo This is one of the nicest planned communities in our area. Just 10 minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo, it is a beautiful area of 800 newer homes, ranging from terrace homes to large executive residences. It has Islay Peak as a backdrop, with parks and trails running throughout. Convenient shopping and easy access to surrounding areas makes this an ideal location. The entire area is extremely “family oriented.” This is one of SLO’s most popular communities for raising children. Activities and facilities for younger children and teenagers abound. The architecture is predominately Spanish and craftsman styles. Homes in this area range from the low $400,000’s to high $700,000’s. This corridor of newer homes, built on what was farmland just a few years ago, is one of San Luis Obispo County’s best housing values. There are many beautifully landscaped neighborhoods, well crafted homes located within a mile of outstanding south county beaches. This traditionally older beach community has been transformed in recent years by the addition of several beautiful planned communities. The people are very friendly and really take care of these neighborhoods. This is a terrific community for raising a family or for executive living. Many of the homes in this area have been built in the past eight years, incorporating the latest “open” floor plans with all the amenities. The architecture is predominately Spanish and craftsman styles. Homes in this area range from the low $400,000’s to the mid $600,000’s. Location: South of Grand Avenue off Oak
